The World Wide Forex market

Forex markets deal with foreign currencies. By foreign currency we mean currencies that are not your national currency. If you are an American, then the USD is your currency. Any other currency other than the US dollar is foreign currency

Forex is a trading ‘method’ also called FX or and foreign market exchange. Those involved in the foreign exchange markets are a few of the largest companies and banks from around the world, trading in currencies from various countries to make a balance as some are going to gain money and others are going to lose money. The basic principle of forex are similar to that of the stock market found in any country, but on a much larger, grand scale, that involves people, currencies and trades from around the world, in just about any country.

Different currency rates happen and change daily. What the value of the dollar possibly one day could be higher or lower the next. The trading on the forex market is one that you’ve to watch intimately or if you’re investing huge amounts of money, you could lose large amounts of money. The main trading areas for forex, goes on in Tokyo, in London and in New York, but there are also a lot of other locations around the world where forex trading does happen.

The most heavily traded currencies are those that include (in no particular order) the Australian dollar, the Swiss franc, the British pound sterling, the Japanese yen, the Eurozone eruo, and the United States dollar. You may trade any one currency against another and you may trade from that currency to another currency to build up additional money and interest regular.

The areas where forex trading is going on will open and close, and the next will open and close. This is seen also in the stock exchanges from around the world, as different time zones are processing order and trading during different time frames. The results of any forex trading in one country could have results and differences in what goes on in additional forex markets as the countries alternate opening and closing with the time zones. Exchange rates are going to change from forex trade to forex trade, and if you’re a broker, or if you’re learning about the forex markets you would like to know what the rates are on a given day before making any trades.

The stock market Is normally based on products, prices, and other factors inside businesses that will change the price of stocks. If someone knows what is going to happened before the general public, it’s often called inside trading, using business secrets to purchase stocks and make money - which by the way is illegal. There’s very little, if any at all details in the forex trading markets. The monetary trades, purchases and sells are all a part of the forex market but very little is based on business secrets, but more on the value of the economy, the currency and such of a country at that time.

All currency that’s traded on the forex market does have a three letter code associated with that currency so there’s no misunderstanding about which currency or which country one is investing with at the time. The eruo is the EUR and the US dollar is called the USD. The British pound is the GBP and the Japanese yen is called the JPY. If you’re involved in adjoining a broker and becoming involved in the forex markets you may get many online where you may review the company information and transactions before processing and becoming involved in the forex markets.

The Indianapolis pharmaceutical company said it intends to resubmit application in the first half of next year with additioal data from a recently completed study in chronic osteoarthritis pain of the knee. “This was a difficult decision, but we believe the updated data package will give the FDA a broader basis for reviewing our application,” said John Hayes, vice president of Lilly Research Laboratories, in a statement. Eli Lilly said the decesion does not affect the drugs FDA-approved indications for major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder or management of diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain. Shares of Eli Lilly fell 2% in premarket trading to $32.17.

28 Nov 2008 at 5:21am

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — The Treasury is struggling to hire enough people to handle the $700 billion financial rescue package passed by Congress in October, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday. Recently, many decisions have been left up to interim staff members, often from other federal banking regulators, who are temporarily at Treasury but are expected to eventually return to their previous positions, the report said. Assistant Treasury Secretary Neel Kashkari, charged with running the Troubled Asset Relief Program, was cited as saying the department’s Office of Financial Stability is operating at half-staff, with about 40 full-time employees. However, Kashkari also said he hopes to double the number of full-time staff by the time President-elect Barack Obama is sworn in on Jan. 20. Outside observers said the difficulty of quickly building a qualified staff may be one reason the Treasury abandoned its original plans to use the TARP to purchase assets from financial institutions, deciding instead to inject capital into the banking system, the report said.

FOREX, trading foreign currency

Foreign Exchange market is the biggest financial market in the world, with a potential of fast and great gains and a sizable number of investors. The advent of internet technology is what made Forex trading grow considerably popular as well as accessible with various types of investors.

FOREX trading is totally about trading foreign currency, stocks, and same type of products. The currency of one country is weighed against the currency of another country to determine value. The value of that foreign currency is taken into consideration when trading stocks on the FOREX markets. Almost countries have control over the value of that countries value, involving the currency, or money. Those who are much involved in the FOREX markets include banks, large businesses, governments, and financial institutions.

What makes the FOREX market different from the stock market?
A forex market trade is one that involves at minimum two countries, and it may occur worldwide. The two countries are one, with the investor, and two, the country the money is being invested in. Almost all transactions occurring in the FOREX market are going to take place through a broker, such as a bank.

What really makes up the FOREX markets?
The foreign exchange market is comprised of a variety of transactions and counties. Those involved in the FOREX market are trading in large volumes, big amounts of money. Those who are involved in the FOREX market are normally involved in cash businesses, or in the trade of very quick assets that you may sell and purchase fast. The market is big, very big. You could consider the FOREX market to be much greater than the stock market in any one country overall. Those involved in the FOREX market are trading regular twenty-four hours a day and sometimes trading is completed on the weekend, but not all weekends.

You might be surprised at the number of people that are involved in FOREX trading. In the years 2004, almost two trillion dollars was an average regular trading volume. This is a huge number for the number of regular transactions to occur. Think about how much a trillion dollars actually is and then times that by two, and this is the money that’s changing hands daily!

The FOREX market isn’t something new, but has been used for over thirty years. With the introduction of computers, and then the internet, the trading on the FOREX market continues to develop as progressively people and businesses alike become aware of the availablily of this trading market. FOREX only accounts for about ten percent of the total trading from country to country, but as the popularity in this market continues to grow so could that number.

21 Nov 2008 at 3:04am

LONDON (MarketWatch) — Credit Suisse raised its rating on British electronics retailer DSG International to outperform from underperform, saying it believes the market has overeacted to concerns about the group’s sustainability in the medium term. “The risk of a near-term financial failure is in our view being over discounted by the market and we believe management will reassure on its financial position at the interim results next week,” the broker told clients. It said, that according to its estimates, comparable sales would have to fall 15% in fiscal 2009 for the company to be close to fully utilizing its 400 million-pound credit facility and be in need of external financial aid. It assigned a “very low probability” to such a pessimistic scenario given it would imply the loss of almost 1 billion pounds of sales across the company’s regions over a six-month period.

LONDON (MarketWatch) — Societe Generale raised its rating on easyJet , Europe’s second-largest low-cost airline, to hold from sell, citing the recent decline in the share price. The broker told clients that management’s guidance for fiscal 2009, while very uncertain, is not inconsistent with consensus forecasts. It added, however, that the dispute between founder the company’s founder and largest shareholder, Stelios Haji-loannou, and the rest of the board over strategy casts a shadow across the stock. It said a resolution of that disagreement could act as a positive catalyst.

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) — Blackstone Group L.P. will continue with the planned launch of an Asia-focused hedge fund early next year, although its size will be scaled back to around $200 million from its earlier target of almost five times that size, according to a wire report. The U.S. private equity firm, which is 12.5%-owned by China’s sovereign wealth fund, will structure the fund to target companies using an event-driven strategy, which could involve purchasing large stakes in distressed companies, according to a Dow Jones Newswires report Friday, which cited people with the situation. The fund has hired 11 analysts, seven of whom will focus on equities in Greater China, South Korea, India and Japan, while the remainder will focus on private companies, the report said.
